| OVERVIEW |
| The CP2140, a 4-channel low-dropout constant-current parallel LED driver, can be used to drive white LED, red LED, blue LED or any color LED whose forward operating voltage is lower than the battery voltage. The CP2140 drives up to four LEDs at 20mA each. The CP2140 is powered directly by a single cell Li-Ion battery without using any boost and buck circuits, lowering the current consumption. Only 100mV dropout voltage is needed to drive up 20mA current per channel, which significantly improves the efficiency. The unique Auto-MirrorTM technology is introduced in CP2140, which can guarantee a constant LED current in various operating conditions and prevent flickering. With the PWM signal on the EN pin, the brightness of LED can be adjusted by the duty cycle.The CP2140 consumes less 0.1¦ÌA current in shutdown mode.No internal switching signals are used, eliminating troublesome electromagnetic interference. Without any external components, it is available in MSOP-8L package and is ideally suitable for portable device applications. |
